The event was held at the Qaid-i-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur.

There were twenty five participants and five table assistants (ORP). The course was organized in the orthopedic department of Bahawal Victoria Hospital. The lectures were held in a class room with audiovisual facilities. The practical demonstration on artificial bones was held in adjoining large foyer. The plastering techniques practicals were held in same area. The facility was spacious and well lit and other facilities for sitting, and catering were of high standard. The facility was adequate to hold such activity. On 6th of August some faculty had arrived and we had an informal meeting. As there was free time it was utilized by cases discussions and some other lectures.

The course started with Prof Sabir highlighting the need and requirement for such activities. Prof Wajid presented the talk on organization of AO Foundation and a review of AO activities in Pakistan. Invited regional faculty, Dr Singh from Nepal, highlighted the role of AOSEC in our region. Prof Ijaz Shah, principal of the medical college, and Dr Malik, medical superintendent of the hospital, were guests of honor. Both welcomed the delegates and faculty. There was very high level of interest both from the participants and faculty. All the lectures were well prepared and as usual there was lot of interest in the practicals.

This enthusiasm was maintained for both days due to active interaction of faculty. The food was of high quality and course dinner was held at a hotel in the city. Overall there was no major problem. The participant’s feed back is very positive. We believe that if these activities are regularly conducted here this venue could evolve to hold other AO academic activities.
